About Me

Anna in her natural habitat (her Lunenburg hat studio)

Hello,

Welcome to my natural habitat, a pretty, coral pink studio in my home where I make all kinds of hats. I have been hatting for over 30 years and I still love my work. Before I was a hat maker, I was a hat lover. Hats are playful, theatrical and joyful. They are also the vehicle through which I can explore all the fibre arts. I love to knit, felt, sew on my great grandmother's Singer treadle sewing machine, dye my own textiles, piece fabric remnants together, embroider, make straw hats on my antique straw braid sewing machine, make my own fabric flowers and naturally dye yarn. Please have a look around my website. My blog is a place where I share my process and also my beautiful town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.  If you are in the neighbourhood, please come and visit.
