Cloche Travel Hat- Hemp Braid-Brown Polka Dots and Baby Rosettes

This pretty little handmade cloche summer hat can be made to fit any head size. It is light as a feather and very breathable.
It is made from hemp braid which I sew on my antique straw braid sewing machine to form this little flapper hat. It is adorned with Japanese Grosgrain ribbon and little removable handmade flowers. The flower are made from hand dyed organic cotton and hemp jersey fabric and embroidered with french knots. The flowers are all made from my fabric scraps, keeping textile waste out of landfill.

Best of all, this hat is packable. I don’t recommend long term crushing, but it can easily withstand being put in a tote bag or a suitcase. If packing for a longer voyage I would suggest putting some clothing inside the hat. If the hat loses its shape due to being crushed simply put the hat back on your head and within a few minutes it will regain its shape.

Each hat is made to order, so it can be made to fit any head size.

To measure your head, take a soft tape measure and measure just above the eyebrows, above the tips of the ears and around the largest part of the back of your head. Try to not let the tape measure swoop down towards your neck. If you don’t have a soft tape measure you can use a string and then carefully measure the string. Repeat this a few times to be sure that you keep getting the same number.
