Elegant Wide-Brim Straw Hat with Bow – Stylish Summer Sun Protection

A handmade elegant wide brim straw hat for women. This beautiful wide brim porkpie style straw hat is made from finely braided wheat straw and is sewn on an antique straw braid sewing machine in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The hat is trimmed with brown polka dot grosgrain ribbon and a bow made from antique grosgrain ribbon.

The inside of the hat has a gently elasticized linen sweat band to keep your forehead soft and cool. The brim measures, 4″ and has a gentle downward slope.

Wheat straw is a very sturdy straw. With simple care this hat will last a lifetime. The tightly braided straw and overlapping sewn layers provide excellent sun protection.

This straw hat will fit a medium head size. (22″-22.5″) If your head size does not fall in this range I will happily customize this style of hat for you.

To measure your head, take a soft tape measure and measure just above the eyebrows, above the tips of the ears and around the largest part of the back of your head. Try to not let the tape measure swoop down towards your neck. If you don’t have a soft tape measure you can use a string and then carefully measure the string. Repeat this a few times to be sure that you keep getting the same number.
