Vintage Hat- 1940s Navy Fur Felt

This is a classic 1940s war era felt hat. Clever and innovative designs were created when textiles were rationed. The hat is in very good condition. The label says, Anne, 2195 Broadway bet. 77th and 78th…a wonderful piece of New York history. The inside of the felt is stamped, body made in France with a name that I can’t make out. This hat would be attached to the head with bobby pins and worn at a slight angle. It is also possible to sew an elastic inside that can be pulled to the back of the head.
