A February Hat Workshop for Knitters

Beautiful Lindsay in her Louise hat

Would you like to come make a hat with me? Can you think of a better way to brighten up the month of February? Well, I have 5 spots around my kitchen table for 4 Tuesday mornings in February. You will need to be an intermediate knitter to take this class. If you can knit, purl and work on double pointed needles, then that is you. In this workshop we will be making the hand knit and felted Louise cloche hat.

A Louise hat with a wider brim

The Louise hat comes with 2 different brim shapes and can be knit at different depths to suit your head shape. This hat is chock full of skills to learn. It is worked from the top down with the pinhole cast on. After increasing we will learn a simple Mosaic technique. The short brim is shaped with short rows and the brim is edged with an icord bind off. We will make the flowers from wool felt and hand felt the hat to give it extra body, shape and warmth. All supplies are included except for needles.

Aside from learning new skills, the best part of these workshops is the camaraderie….ok and maybe the fresh baked goodies that I can’t seem to resist making.

I sure hope we get to spend some Tuesday mornings together making hats. If you are interested you can sign up HERE.
