Flora- Handwoven-Plant Dyed- Fedora-Size Medium- Ready to Ship
$325.00
Description
This one of a kind, elegant, 1940s style fedora hat begins with Blue Faced Leicester yarn in my natural dye pots. The dyed yarn then moves over to my loom and finally to my Great grandmother’s Singer treadle sewing machine where the fabric is transformed into a hat.
I also hand spun the dark brown yarn on my antique spinning wheel. Slow fashion really doesn’t get any slower.
The inside of the hat is lined with silk, so it is very soft against the forehead.
The Flora hat is flirty and playful, but subtle. Pair her with a double breasted trench coat for that Ingrid Bergman vibe.
This hat will fit a medium head size, 22.5-23″ (57-58.5cm)
To measure your head, take a soft tape measure and measure just above the eyebrows, above the tips of the ears and around the largest part of the back of your head. Try to not let the tape measure swoop down towards your neck. If you don’t have a soft tape measure you can use a string and then carefully measure the string. Repeat this a few times to be sure that you keep getting the same number.
