Handwoven and Naturally dyed Scarf/Shawl-One of a Kind

Description

This luxurious one of a kind handwoven oversized scarf, or shawl was made from blue Faced Leicester wool. The wool is very silk and smooth. If you are not extremely sensitive to wool then this would be considered soft.

This weave is called, deflected double weave. It creates pockets of two fabric layers. A very squishy fabric is created that is extra warm. (Kind of like insulation.)

Before weaving the scarf the yarn is naturally dyed. The plants used in this particular scarf are Indigo and Madder root. By over dyeing (dyeing the skein twice) I am able to achieve many different shades and colours.

The scarf measures 78″x14″ (198x36cm).
