Glorious Spring and a Video to Prove it.
Hello from the prettiest time of year when green is queen. I am positively tripping on the colours around me right now. I made another short video to share the love. If the colours of Spring are not enough to entice you to watch, then maybe the colours of some of my naturally dyed fabrics might do the trick. It’s a funny thing about me and Youtube videos. For the longest time I tried to figure out what I was supposed to be doing to get more views and then I gave up and decided I was going to do exactly what I loved doing and if 20 people enjoyed them then that was fine.

I really enjoy walking with my phone and recording the beautiful things I see. It helps me to pay attention to the world around me.

I also really love to share my process, my love for extracting colours from plants and my love for creating slowly and mindfully. So, this has become the theme of my occasional videos…a hat and a walk. I am putting out into the world exactly what I love to watch myself. Tony has accused me of only liking movies where nothing happens. I totally resemble that remark. Show me the flowers growing where you live, the birds chirping around you, even a close up of moss on a rock, and I will give you the beautifully boring Academy award. Can we make that an actual category?

Last we spoke I shared my new Frida Flower Crown with you. I was so delighted that two people immediately ordered one from me.

I was even more delighted when both these ladies wrote to tell me that they are in love with their new headbands. Irene is a musician who plays at Ukrainian music festivals and she asked me to swap out the elasticized back for silk ribbons. It worked perfectly. It was also great to see how the crown can be worn over the forehead. Options are always a good thing.

In the studio I have been busy trying to replenish my cotton canvas hats. I designed the Franny cloche a few years back and I still love her so. Canvas is such a durable fabric and works for Spring, Summer and Fall. The flowers are another opportunity for me to work from the scrap pile.

This Saturday will be my final day at the Halifax Brewery market until late fall. It slows down in the summer because everybody wants to be in Lunenburg. This beautiful woman purchased the smaller version of my Flower Crown and has inspired me to make another batch. Sometimes I don’t know how good something is until I see it on another head..

This is my Betty Bucket hat in teal. I sold the first one and immediately made a second. It’s not up in my web shop, but if you would like one just order a different colour and let me know that you would like it in teal.
Well, that’s all for now. As always, I am so grateful that you chose to spend a little time with me.
Be well,
Anna

I sure wish I could be there!! Irene looks like a queen!!

Awww, Amy! Always best when you are visiting in person.
Your photos are lovely! And taking photos on walks is something I do as well, it’s a wonderful way to mindfully walk.
Thanks, Judy! Nice to hear of a fellow walking photo taker.
